Shiza Tahir holds a Masters in Counseling and Mental Health Services from the Graduate School of Education at University of Pennsylvania. She is also a certified Remedial Educator.
Shiza has worked in the education sector and mental health sector in Pakistan and the US, in various capacities. Her focus of interest is creating mentally healthy schools for children and staff. Shiza began her career in education by teaching English at a school in Karachi. Currently Shiza works as a Counselor and Play Therapist with children and adolescents in her private practice as well as a private school in Karachi. Shiza has founded Within Me, an organisation that works on promoting social and emotional well-being for children. In the US, she worked in a leadership position at the Consortium for Mental Health and Optimal Development at Penn GSE, a project that helps schools in Philadelphia build mental health capacity.
Shiza teaches Education Psychology at the college.
