Government Elementary College of Education (GECE), Hussainabad
Admission Policy
GECE is open to all academically qualified female candidates, are merit-based and are conducted once a year, with classes beginning in August (Fall semester).
Since the number of applicants for the B.Ed. (Hons) is much higher than the number of seats available, admissions are categorized in two groups i.e. K and S. Each category is defined as follows:
CATEGORY “K”
Category “K” refers to those applicants who have passed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC or Matric), Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC or Intermediate) or equivalent, and graduation from the educational institutions which are situated in Karachi.
CATEGORY “S”
Category “S” refers to those applicants who have passed at least one of the SSC/Matric, HSC/Intermediate or Bachelor’s degree examinations from a recognized educational institution in the Province of Sindh (excluding Karachi).
Preference in admissions is given to “K” category candidates. If the eligible applicants are fewer than the seats and the seats are left vacant, then “S” category candidates are considered. (reference: https://www.uok.edu.pk/admissions/2025/tbpro.pdf)
GECE, Hussainabad follows a needs-blind admission policy, meaning that admission decisions are based solely on merit. This includes academic performance, test scores, extracurricular activities, and other relevant factors—without considering the applicant’s financial ability to pay tuition.
Our selection process prioritizes diversity, ensuring students from various socioeconomic and educational backgrounds have the opportunity to join. We believe that a diverse student body enhances the overall learning experience. However, there are no quotas, reserved seats, or admissions granted in exchange for donations.
